Fourth International Sakharov Conference on Physics
will be held May 18-23, 2009 in Moscow

The Conference is organized by the Tamm Theory Department of the Lebedev Institute
The Conference continues the tradition of the 1991, 1996, and 2002 Sakharov Conferences on Physics.
Andrei Sakharov (1921-1989) joined the Lebedev institute in 1945 and returned there in 1986 after his exile.
The previous conferences were marked by a broad international participation (with 210 talks given at the 2002
event - www.sakharov.lpi.ru)

The participation is mostly by invitation but applications will also be considered
Formal registration will be open around January 2009 to conform with the latest formalities necessary for
obtaining a Russian visa
Accommodation:
The hotel prices are expected to vary from Euro 120 to 200 per night depending on the hotel
Details concerning Russian visa and accommodation will be presented in the next information bulletin

Participation Fee
|
The registration fee is expected to be around Euro 300 (or equivalent) for participants and Euro 150 for
accompanying persons. The fee covers a welcome party, the banquet, coffee breaks and other organizational costs.

Social Program
|
The Organizing Committee is planning to arrange a Moscow sightseeing tour,
visits to museums, theaters, etc. for an extra charge. A special social
program for the accompanying persons will also be organized
